Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have been very jealous of my brothers and husband the past few years, as they have all completed the Warriors Run. Having popped out a couple of children, I have been unable to participate...until now. I decided just after Christmas 2011, that The Warriors Run 2012 was my year and I have been in training ever since.
I am running this race in memory of my father, Miceal Gilmartin, who died from pancreatic cancer in 2004, only 13 weeks after diagnosis. I am determined to raise money for Cancer Research UK, no mattter how little, to support their research in to this disease. Early diagnosis is crucial in the fight against cancer.
I have chosen to compete in this race, (even though I may come last), as it takes place in Sligo in Ireland, where my father was born and raised. I can see it being a very emotional day but a great way to remember my father.
