Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am doing the moonlight walk in memory of my husband, Christopher, who was the bravest man I have ever known.
Christopher was diagnosed with Huntington’s disease 12 yrs ago, Huntington’s is a very slow progressive neurological condition with no cure, life expectancy is generally 17 to 20 years.
Last summer Chris started to deteriorate at an alarming rate, His symptoms became so aggressive it just did not follow the pattern of Huntington’s, but nothing could have prepared anyone including the medical staff at the RPH that by Christmas Chris would also be in the final stages of Motor Neurone disease. Medical research showed that there was only 4 other recorded cases in the world of both these fatal illnesses occurring together,
Chris was moved to St Catherine,s early febuary and soon gave up his fight and moved on to a better place , while in St Catherines Chris recieved the time and care that he needed at the time he needed it the most. I will always be grateful to St Catherines for the precious final days we had together, and for making them matter.
Any amount no matter how small all goes towards helping this vital cause, Thankyou
