Story
My friend Ellissa and I had a great day in Barcelona- we both love our jobs and love our patients and we treated ourselves to a fun day seeing the sights before the european conference started in 2018...
Who would have guessed that come December 2019 Ellissa's niggly back pain would turn out to be leukaemia?
Nearly 2y on she is alive, more alive than ever, having dealt with this hammer blow in THE most extraordinary way. Her own positive thinking puts the rest of us to shame for our petty moans. She is now back at work, despite Covid, desperate to return to the full face to face patient care we are all craving...
I never believed I could run a half marathon- 10k (on a good day) fair weather runner, me! If ever there was a reason to commit to doing something to push me beyond my comfort zone it is for Ellissa and to raise a few pennies for our Hospitals Charity because they were there for her with little things when she was in need (the static bike has a lot to answer for.... 3327.7miles, 365 days, over £18,000 raised, through high highs and low lows!) She rocks!
