Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have started my fundraising page to raise vital funds for Hepatobiliary Cancer Research at Christies Hospital (led by Professor Juan Valle)
It is approaching 12 months since a good friend (Mick Kinane) passed away from pancreatic cancer so ive decided to complete a charity skydive on the 28thJuly 2013 as a way of raising funds for research and in memory of Mick.
Sadly Mick lost his battle on 25th June 2012. Around 8,000 people are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer (also known as cancer of the pancreas) each year.
It is the ninth most common cancer in the UK, more common in people over 60 and not usually found in people under 40 years of age.
Cancer of the pancreas is a very serious form of cancer which is both difficult to detect and treat. Because pancreatic cancer causes few symptoms in its early stages, the condition is often not diagnosed until the cancer is relatively advanced.
Every donation helps and I appreciate every penny we can raise. No donation is too small and every penny will help to make a difference.
