Story
In January 2022, my son Will Featherstone (17) had a bad accident whilst riding in a Point to Point race at Higham racecourse in Suffolk. The air ambulance attended very quickly and were absolutely brilliant. Will ended up going by land ambulance to Colchester hospital but the amazing EAAA medics accompanied us and waited with us to ensure Will was in the right place before they left.
Will has since made a full recovery and is back riding now as a professional jockey as a conditional over jumps. I am keen to raise money for this amazing charity who need to raise so much from donations and as horsey people, we never know when we need their help. It is such an incredible resource in East Anglia.
Ted is keen to run the Cambridge Half Marathon and has roped me in too! So, we hope to raise as much as we can for the EAAA in doing so! It will make the pain worthwhile!
East Anglian Air Ambulance is a 24/7 helicopter emergency medical service covering Beds, Cambs, Norfolk and Suffolk. EAAA doesn't receive regular government funding, each mission costs on average £3,750 and we need to raise £17m a year from charitable donations to continue our lifesaving service.
