Fundraising for Dystonia UK
Hi i will be swimming theAquasphere Chillswim Coniston 5.25 Miles End to End 2023 - the 10th Anniversary Edition with my brother Damian to help raise awareness and money for dystonia UK. I was diagnosed with dystonia along with EDs And POTs about 9 years ago. Dystonia has changed my life totally i had to give up my dream job as a hairdresser and learn how to live day to day not knowing what the next day will bring. Dystonia effected my arms and hands first which is why i had to give up work, i had to relearn how to do normal day to day things all over again. It also now affects my legs, feet and neck, the full body spasms take over and make normal daily life harder. It took me ages to get my head around it all and start to enjoy life again, but with alot of help and support of my family and friends here i am today, with two beauiful babies. Doing the most craziest thing i have ever done in my life with one of my biggest supporters my brother. SO Let's help raise money and awareness for Dystonia UK
100 ,000 people in the UK are affected by Dystonia, which is a neurological condition presenting with uncontrollable and sometimes painful muscle spasms. Dystonia is a lifelong condition that affects both adults and children that currently has no cure. Dystonia UK is children and adults with dystonia, carers and clinicians, fundraisers and families, medical professionals and our amazing members and supporters, all working side by side. Through our fundraisers and supporters (yes that is you!), we can carry on our mission, so thank you!
