At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

My Auntie Jenny is someone who has always been a very special person and  when I was little I can still remember the excitement of when she took me to Zodiac Toys in Preston and said I could have anything I wanted for my birthday. She was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease last year and during the lockdown her condition drastically deteriorated and sadly she is now in residential care in a small village in Yorkshire. My Uncle Keith and my father in law, Frank, also have dementia-related illnesses and my friend Fiona's father has also been diagnosed with Alzheimer's. We want to raise money to help further research into this dreadful illness which causes such devastation to families by gradually taking away the person that they love.
