Story
With your support, I'll be sponsoring a dog through Shelter to Soldier's Red Star Sponsor program, covering all costs of the dog's journey from the day of adoption from a shelter in Southern California, throughout the programs 12-18 month training timeline, to the pup's graduation as a psychiatric service dog for a post-9/11 combat veteran in need, and beyond, for the lifetime of the dog.
I really appreciate your contribution to these efforts! I know how much my dogs have done for me, and I'm excited to help facilitate the same companionship so that a veteran and shelter dog can enhance each others' lives.
Shelter to Soldier is a 501c3 non-profit organization that rescues dogs from an otherwise uncertain future in local shelters and trains them to become psychiatric service dogs for post-9/11 combat veterans suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), and other injuries associated with traumatic combat experiences. The sponsored service dog will serve the critical role of psychological and in cases where needed, physical assistance for the soldier. Saving Lives, Two At A Time, the organization helps save a dog from a rescue and helps save a veteran from the perils of mental injury associated with traumatic combat experiences.
