To mark the half way point of the 5in5for5 challenge, I will be running the third half marathon on Friday 1 April to raise funds for Chest, Heart & Stroke Scotland (CHASS)
CHSS provides specialist support to ensure that people affected by Chest, Heart and Stroke illnesses receive the very best care and support as possible to help rebuild their lives.
1 in 5 people in Scotland are struggling with a chest, heart or stroke condition and having three grandparents who have suffered from strokes, two of whom sadly passed away over the last two years, this charity lies closely to my heart.
CHSS currently supports over 29,000 people across Scotland through their helpline and community support services, both of which have seen a huge increase in demand as more and more vulnerable people have become worried about the impact of Covid-19 on their health. At the same time, CHSS has seen temporary closure of their charity shops, of which under normal circumstances provides a steady channel of funding to the charity.
Donations can help CHSS continue their provision of support, advice and information to those impacted by these illnesses (most of whom are of elder age) undertake critical medical research and provide support across local communities.
All donations, no matter how large or small, are hugely welcomed and appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your support.
