Story
Castle are running a 12 month long fundraising campaign in aid of St Catherine’s Hospice in celebration of our 50th year.
We have chosen to support this worthwhile cause as last year they cared for our MD's Suzanne Burnett's dad in his final weeks and supported her mum at a very difficult time and therefore wanted to give back.
We plan to complete lots of different fundraising activities; Suzanne kicked off the year with "Dry January" A challenge her dad would find very amusing as he knew Suzanne's appreciation for a glass of bubbles!
February and March saw the Castle office raise awareness with prize draws for chocolate treats on Valentine's Day and Easter and raise funds through dress down days and cake sales.
In May a 9 man strong team including Castle team members and their children will be running along Filey beach in support of St Catherine's own Colour the Coast event, the first ever to be held on a Yorkshire beach.
Hundreds are expected to flock to Filey on Saturday 7 May for a madcap dash along the sands when runners will be doused head to toe in a kaleidoscope of colour. The 5k event is not a race and people can take part at any pace they choose, passing through colour stations where they will be pelted with a rainbow of coloured powder.
One of our team will take on their first triathlon in May and further events throughout the year will include a tandem bike ride, a dip in the sea, bowling, a beach night, monthly dress down, cake sales and an auction in order to achieve our £2000 target.
In June the Castle team took part in a sweep stake for the Euro's. Donating their £40 combined entry fees to our fundraising pot. Tina was the lucky winner drawing Portugal the winning team.
