Story
I'm swimming in this brilliant challenge as part of Team Limbitless to raise money for Level Water. As someone with a disability, swimming has always been the most accessible sport for me and something I can always take my leg off and get in and do, no matter what is happening with my leg and prosthetics. The trials and tribulations of life disappear when I get in the water, and the incredible freedom and sense of calm I get from being in a lake, the sea or my local lido, is something difficult to put into words. (It's not quite the same as being in a 25m lane rage-filled pool...) We're swimming a 24 hour relay in Clevedon Marine Lake, so it'll be pretty cold and it'll be tough to keep going through the night.
The charity we are swimming for, Level Water, uses the power of swimming to change the lives of children with disabilities across the UK. Everyone should have the opportunity to learn to swim and fall in love with the water, and Level Water help make that happen.
