Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Myself, Rob and our friend Kevin will be taking part in the 3 Peaks Challenge in May......and this is why.........
Alf was born with Unilateral Congenital Cateract, this was initially over looked and not picked up until he developed amblyopia just before Christmas 2012 (aged 2) As you can imagine, this was a complete shock for us, and it has required complex management and surgeries! Alf is a happy, clever and amazing little boy who inspires us every day! We would like to raise money for the eye department at the Norfolk and Norwich hospital through the hospitals charitable fund, with special thanks to Alfs surgeon Mr Narman Puvanachandra.
Congenital Cateracts are responsible for nearly 10% of all vision loss in children world wide, if the cateract is not removed during the 1st year of life, the vision will never be fully regained after surgery and they may lose vision all together.
Alf also suffers from gastrointestinal disease with respiratory complications as parent we want the best for our son, when we found out about his eye we were devestated! If we can give the hospital something back and spread awareness of this eye condition while raising money for our local team of stars it will be worth it!!!!
