Story
Milly's Story:
Occupation: Television presenter and writer.
As one of the most recognisable faces on Italian television, it is my privilege and duty to give back where I can. I have been truly lucky to realise my professional ambitions. I was the driving force behind one of the most successful shows in Italian television history; simultaneously I have been able to raise a happy, healthy family. Many other women do not have my luck. In the name of these women, and their children, I am proud to team up with my daughter to raise funds and awareness for Cash & Rocket, as well as the charities it supports. I love the fact that every penny raised by our efforts will go to Shine on Sierra Leone, OrphanAid Africa and Sumbandila, and that there will be demonstrable, direct benefits from our fundraising. I am a firm believer in the strength of women and their right to fulfill their every dream. I have always campaigned to help women in the third world and also to support women's rights in every society. I am so looking forward to the Venice - London tour .... just not to my daughter's driving!
Angie's Story:
Occupation: Developer and entrepreneur
The Fiat 500 strikes again! For the second year running my red Fiat 500 will be zipping around Europe for Cash & Rocket. This year, it's a mother-daughter adventure as my Mum, Milly, rises to the challenge. The biggest ordeal will be fitting all of my Mum's luggage into one small car! I am a globetrotter by nature and I love driving, so I didn't think twice when Julie invited me to take part in the Cash & Rocket Tour once again ... especially as last year was a truly life-changing experience for me. The women on the tour became one family, one that we have kept alive since then, and I was extremely gratified to see the results of our work in the ensuing year. I am excited to share the experience with my Mum, and I think it is especially salient that together we can help mothers and children who are less fortunate than us. I'm part of the 2014 Cash & Rocket adventure because one doesn't often get the chance to make a tangible difference in the lives of so many people, whilst at the same time living an epic journey and making so many great new friends in the process.
