Thornberry Animal Sanctuary is a rescue centre based in South Yorkshire on two different sites. The charity was founded in 1988 and in that time they have rescued thousands of Dogs, Cats, Rabbits and Horses. They take animals that through no fault of their own, need a new home. They then assess the animals' needs and behaviours to enable the animal to be matched to their forever home! 


The number of animals being abandoned and left in shelters is increasing rapidly. The money raised from this half marathon will help Thornberry Animal Sanctuary look after these poor animals and help them find their new homes! Every animal deserves a second chance at life!

Thornberry Animal Sanctuary is an independent charity established in 1988. We rescue abandoned and neglected animals across South & West Yorks, NE Derbyshire & North Notts. We rehome hundreds of dogs, cats, rabbits and horses annually, and rely solely on donations and fundraising to continue.
