Hello and thanks for visiting our "Just Giving" page for the 5 K Race For Life event us sisters are doing in June ...

It is a year since our Mum, Gwen, was given the first 'all clear' after a diagnosis of Endrometrial Cancer in 2008. The 'all clear's' she receives every 3 months have been celebrated and our respect for her strength and resolve to go endure the necessary poisoning, zapping and recovery that comes with being treated for this disease has increased with every passing month.

Sadly, though, we know other people who have not been as lucky. Some of you know these people well. So, we decided that this year we'd do something in honour of Mum and honour the other people so fond in our memories.

We've learned a lot, often the hard way. This is a horrible illness. To help the battle to find a cure we really wanted to do something meaningful. Cancer Research was and still is helpful for us when we need it. Macmillan nurses, respite care, the work they do with patients and families is a trusted lifeline and resource that helped us understand and cope.  People do survive, and it's partly because of money that's donated to the work that Cancer Research carries out.

Those of you that know us, are familiar with our talents for knitting, singing, creating, performing and ( let's be honest ) talking...but I'll bet you didn't know that the both of us can walk and we can occasionally pick our feet up a bit and do some running.

Our inspiration for the 5K is Mum but our thinking is for her and all the others.
