Story
Last year, I heard the devastating news that I had a brain tumour on my frontal lobe, a sizeable Meningioma that was successfully removed in November 2019. Recovery has been slow at times but I’m getting there and am so thankful to be one of the lucky ones.
This November, I want to do something positive rather than remember the dark and scary days of last year. I have received lots of support from family and friends that has helped me through.
Braintrust reached out to me and I had some really supportive phone calls and received resources that truly helped me. For this reason I would like to give a little back and complete the 30 miles in 30 days challenge. I used to love running but am no where near where I used to be in terms of fitness so this will be a real challenge for me. I still suffer with head pain and fatigue but exercise helps to combat that so why not give a little back if possible to a well deserving charity? Any donations would be most gratefully received.
I will complete this challenge in memory of my Aunt, Loraine Knowles OBE, who very sadly lost her life to an aggressive form of brain tumour.
Thank you for reading my story.

Every single day in the UK, 30 people hear the life changing words you have a brain tumour. For those 30 people and their loved ones, the road ahead looks scary and uncertain. That's why I'm joining Run, Row, Ride this November - taking on 30 miles in 30 days to support people with a brain tumour and their loved ones.
