Story
Caroline says:
3 different cancers in 12 years. Beaten every one. Not just because I have excellent doctors and treatment, (and because I’m extremely lucky to have had treatable cancer, found early) but because I had incredible support.
Whatever I needed to know, whenever I needed to know it. Compassion without pity, knowledge to give me power and warmth that just made it a little easier each day.
Not everyone is as fortunate to be surrounded by the love and support I have enjoyed and with 50% of us likely to be facing a diagnosis in our lifetime we need more than ever to help Maggie's to be there for anyone affected by any type of cancer.
Need to draw eyebrows because you've lost yours?Want to know if you can still do sports on chemo?Help with how on earth to tell your kids. How to ensure you understand your options for treatment.
And know how to get access to the right benefits and support.
This isn't even the half of it.
No government funding. Yet such a big job to do.
If we went out for the evening you'd probably buy me a drink, perhaps two (if I was lucky) do it here instead please and I'll buy you one back for real.
Thanks for reading. Xxx

Death and taxes. And most likely cancer. So many people in my life have even faced with the, what I can only imagine, causes ringing in the ears, diagnosis.
Spending New Years with one of my best friends while she was in the throes of fighting, I’m just glad the other guy (Big C) came off worse. I always knew that battling cancer requires incredible physical and mental resilience, but watching a close friend through her treatment really brought it home to me.
Our medical profession supports the physical, but what about the rest? Maggie’s provides much needed pastoral and practical help for people as they face the biggest battle of their lives.
This walk can be our way of trying to be of some use to our friends and family who are going through the cancer hell.
I’ll do the steps, you just need to find a few coins.
Helen says:
Too many people I know and live have had to suffer this awful disease.
Both my mum and business partner have fought and won three times. Other friends and colleagues have also succeeded.
My old boss did not win the war.
Maggies is a tremendous resource for cancer warriors and their families - and provides a big dose of the human touch required on the battlefield.
That’s why I’m raising money for them.
So there you have it people. 3 women with 3 stories about why Maggie’s deserves and needs your money.
Come on.
