Story
As you know - Kate was a great proponent of complementary therapies and she certainly believed that these kept her strong, soothed and centred. When Kate died in the early hours of 26th August, she knew that she and her family were as well prepared as they could possibly be under the circumstances, and this was due to the help they all received from the counselling services of the Sara Lee Trust. During her illness she valued the enormous comfort and healing she received from the compelemtary therapies which the Trust provide to those living with cancer, and in her final few months she also found huge strength from a wonderful 'sanctuary day' which she was able to benefit from.
Many will know that Kate was so passionate about this little gem of a local charity that she dedicated many hours and days in her final months to organising the fabulous "Well-being Day" (raising thousands of pounds) which brought so many of us together and made us reflect on the value of community, friends, love and care for each other and for ourselves, and our spirit-life. It was a wonderful joyous generous gift (so very 'Kate' !) that she gave those of us who were able to be there.
So please, if you can, do give also to the Sara Lee Trust.
