Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am running the London Marathon 2014 to raise funds for CLIC Sargent in memory of my son, Matthew, who died aged 22.
Matthew was a spirited and fun loving young man, who enjoyed and lived everyday as if it was his last; achieving and doing so much in his 22 years. Anything and everything was possible for him. He was in his final year at Loughborough University, fit and strong, and a very keen sportsman. Last year, Jan 2012, he was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour. We were all devastated.
Matthew fought "the little bastard", as he called it, until 14th December 2012. He suffered this awful disease for 11 months but remained hopeful, cheerful and determined throughout. A remarkable young man and I am so very proud of him.
Throughout this time, Matthew and our family received invaluable help from CLIC Sargent, and their support still continues.
I have never been a runner and think I am mad taking it up now! However I am determined to complete the 26.2 miles and to give something back to this wonderful charity.
