Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Those of you who know me well will recognise that I'm no marathon runner! I do love the event however, and every year I support friends who are running to raise money for their favourite charities.
This year, because of the lockdown situation many charities are loosing out on vital funds needed to keep them afloat so , I've decided to do a marathon far more suited to me:
I'll aim to throw 26 pots on 26th April, on my potters wheel which is currently residing in my garden, as I work from home. I'm undercover so come rain or shine I'll be there.
I usually throw 10 pots a day maximum so it will be a challenge for me and I'll be so grateful for any sponsorship, as well as a couple of post lockdown massages!
Once thrown, the next day I will have to turn and finish them, allowing them to dry before their first firing. Then they will be decorated in my usual style, glazed, fired again and finally offered up for sale to coincide with the online Wimbledon Art Fair from 14 - 17th May. I will donate 50% of the proceeds from these special 26 pieces to the Roy Castle Lung Cancer foundation in memory of my mum. Since her death 3 years ago my sister and I have been raising money for them in her name.
