The Slum Supper challenge involves living on a limited parcel of food for five days, based on the food parcels Global Care is distributing to vulnerable children and families in Patripul, near Mumbai.

Story

As most of you know I love my food... and I am passionate about the work of Global Care. I am absolutely dreading doing this challenge, which involves living on food parcel rations for five days (whilst still cooking for the rest of the family), but I want to do it because five days of sacrifice is nothing compared to the challenges many of the families supported by Global Care are going through because of the coronavirus pandemic. I want to help. For the last five months, Global Care's international partners have been the only hope for thousands of families who faced starvation in prolonged lockdowns, where if they could not work, they could not eat. The generosity of Global Care's amazing family of donors has equipped the charity to stand alongside these families and meet the needs of thousands of vulnerable children at a time of immense crisis. However the pandemic is far from over, as we all know, and I feel like it's time to do my bit. I am hoping you will recognise how hard I am going to find this challenge, and be willing to encourage me to do it, and to keep going, by donating to the cause. Every penny counts!
