Story
In the 1980's I was a serving soldier in The Women's Royal Army Corps attached to the Royal Signals. I left after I got married and spent many more years moving from posting with my husband and young family. It was a time of my life which made me the person I am today. In 2006 I suffered a life changing spinal cord injury. Having said that, I was very lucky because I am still able to walk but it has taken years of hard work and I still have problems with mobility and pain. I regularly see reports about the awful life changing injuries our servicemen and women receive on active service in areas such as Afghanistan and their bravery inspires me daily. I have been going to the gym for the past year in a bid to improve my fitness and mobility and have recently started swimming too. This is my chance to help raise funds for a very special cause to make sure that the wonderful work they do continues and that our heroes get the help and support they need and deserve.
