Story
Boaz was born back in 2007 as a place where adults with learning disabilities could come, do horticultural work, be valued for their contribution and accepted for who they are as people. Over the years a community of active volunteers, aged from 9 to 93 has grown up to support our members working and learning together. Growing plants, keeping chickens, processing eggs, cooking meals and making crafts and woodwork items for sale. Day to day running costs are covered by fees paid by members, but to keep the place in good repair and to improve facilities costs money. That's why Boaz is looking to boost funds for people, plants and poultry. To financially help people who cannot afford to come but who would like to attend, to renovate our composting arrangements and to refurbish our chicken houses. EWE can do it!
I’ve been a volunteer at Boaz for over a year and wholeheartedly want to support this fundraising. The idea started a month ago when I had a Godly dream about Marching through March to fundraise for Boaz, along with members, staff and volunteers.
So it’s nearly March & my aim is to walk 100km during the month. Please sponsor me to raise funds for this very special place that shows great care and gives dignity to adults with learning disabilities. Follow my journey as I keep active along with the Boaz family.
