Story

This is the Justgiving page set up in memory of Carol Venables who was loved by all of us who were privileged to know her cheerful willingness to help others.

Carol lost her life due to pneumonia (presumed COVID-19) in April 2020. Those of us who knew her well will remember her love of bikes. Carol had so much respect for this charity and the amazing work they do. Please help us to help them continue the important support they offer our health services, particularly at this critical time.

Whether it be the early hours of the morning, or the end of the night, if a hospital urgently requires blood, blood bikers are there to help. This can reduce the costs to hospitals of up to £300 per trip using taxi services to do the same job. With the help of the Nationwide Association of Blood Bikes this money can now be saved and spent on higher priority things such as medical supplies which could go on to save someone's life.

In addition to their normal work, the blood bikers are now also busy carrying COVID samples for testing and much needed PPE into hospitals.

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page for Carol.
