Thank you for visiting my fundraising page dedicated in my mother's memory.
After being diagnosed in March 2008 with Grade IV Glioblastoma Multiforme, Mum died peacefully on Wednesday 27th May 2009, surrounded by her family after 14 months of living with this terrible illness.
She is safe now, and we like to think of her hopefully relaxing somewhere on a warm summer's evening in a French garden with a glass of "something fine" in her hand, surrounded by sunflowers, lavender and bees!
Dad chose this charity as the focus on pure research appealed to him.
There seems to be a real lack of funding and effort within the oncological community to search for progress in treating brain tumours, and we feel we should be pushing back those boundaries that cause such limitations to the lives of those we love.
Brain tumours are frightening, both for the sufferer, and for the family and friends, because of the physical and emotional changes that the tumours wreak on the character of the patient.
Brain tumours are frightening because anyone could develop one, at any time.
Thank you to all friends and family for your heartfelt support and care during these awful months, it has meant alot to us all.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Brain Tumour Research gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Thank you for your support.
Love always,
John, Laura and Struan x
