Story
It is true - sport brings people together and has the power to change the world.......here's our story and we hope you'll feel inspired and will help us make the world a little better.
We met through cycling to and from work at GSK - come rain or shine, snow or hail we would share our commute 'adventures' in the GSK cycle changing room every single day. A strong friendship was formed.
So the conversations flowed and without really thinking about it we took the word 'adventure' to another level and signed up to the ride of our lives - 970 miles from Lands End to John O' Groats in 9 consecutive days, no frills attached under canvas.
With just a month to go until we head off to Land's End, we thought we'd do some fundraising for the GSK Save the Children partnership which has special connections for all of us.
Every day 15,000 children under the age of five die - most from preventable causes. GSK are working together with Save the Children to change that. Through a pioneering and powerful partnership that combines GSK's scientific and manufacturing expertise with Save the Children's on the ground experience to find new ways to help bring down the number of children dying from preventable and treatable diseases. We have been fortunate enough to see first hand the work Save the Children do and know how important it is.
So that you know, we've each funded our ride, so any donations you make will go directly to Save the Children, and anything your give will be doubled by GSK.
Finally.....If you'd like to see the route you can visit the organiser's site here: Full Classic Route - Deloitte Ride Across Britain - and even better if you are close by we'd love to see you in person along the way!
Thank you for your support, it means a lot.
Caroline, Shona and Joanna.
