Bone marrow transplants are lifesaving for people suffering from blood cancers such as Hodgekins lymphoma. It costs £100 to recruit and type a new donor for their bone marrow register and to maintain their sample. Currently there are more people waiting for donors than they can help. Anthony Nolan need to raise more money to achieve an increase in the number of donors so they can help more blood cancer patients.

A close friend in his mid 20's had a bone marrow transplant nearly 2 years ago. This has been completely life changing for him having gone through various treatments for Hodgekins lymphoma in the previous few years. Now he is fit and healthy and enjoying every second of his life again.

I am running the Berlin marathon in 2014 not just because I fancied a challenge but because Anthony Nolan need more money to keep doing their fantastic work which saves the lives of people with blood cancers.
