When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down. And so does a part of you. Life changes instantly and recovery is tough. But the brain can adapt. Our specialist support, research and campaigning are only possible with the courage and determination of the stroke community.

Story

On Sunday 8th September I'm going to run the half marathon because:

-I'd like to raise money for a charity which deserves recognition for all the hard work they do

-I enjoy running and I love music and the race is 'Run to the Beat'!

-On Mother's Day 2012 our mum suffered a severe stroke

-Since that day she has been set personal challenges, physically, emotionally and mentally which far out weigh those of a 13 mile run on a Sunday morning - so this is the least I can do

-I'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has been such a great help, support and rock to mum and us as a family

-I'm so grateful, on behalf of the charity, for anyone that would like to donate on this page.  Fifty friends & colleagues giving £5 each will do it

THANK YOU

Caroline x
