I’m TREKKING again!
I will be heading to Iceland to trek the phenomenal Landmannalaugar. The route is through one of the most actively volcanic and alien landscapes in Iceland - awe-inspiring views at every step! I will also have to set up my tent at the end of each day…
As many of you know I trekked the Cornish Coastline last year alongside an extraordinary group of individuals #TeamMatt - forever in my heart!
I had to get my fitness levels up and in doing so I’ve appreciated how important regular exercise is not only for my own recovery from the rigours of Breast Cancer treatments but for my continued sense of well-being and strength to live and love my life.
Danielle was part of this inimitable team and has set up this incredible Charity THE FITNESS SUPPORT NETWORK
Danielle was diagnosed with incurable breast cancer in 2018 at the age of 29. Like anyone newly diagnosed her mental health was at rock bottom but she knew she had to pick herself up for her 6 month old daughter, Joey. After a couple of months Danielle got back into exercising when she could, mainly going for short runs and taking up yoga. After a while she added in a solid weekly gym routine and nearly 3 years later she’s joined a boxing club in Kent and sees a personal trainer once a week.

THE FITNESS SUPPORT NETWORK
The Fitness Support Network is a non-profit organisation that provides adult cancer patients access to physical activity within their first year of diagnosis if they have early-stage cancer or at any time after their diagnosis if their cancer is advanced.
Their mission is to encourage movement throughout treatment for cancer and beyond.
Exercise classes and gym memberships can be expensive so we want to take that financial burden away from the cancer patient for 12 months so they can enjoy exercising without worrying about the pennies!”
