Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I had a beautiful, talented and kind friend who was taken from us far too soon because of MND. There's no cure and no effective treatment for this disease. After she was diagnosed, my friend Lesley vowed to raise £20000 to help the MND Association find a cure and support affected families. She smashed through that fundraising target but we are still no closer to offering any hope to those diagnosed. Before Lesley passed away I promised her I would continue her fight to find a cure. That's why, at the wrong end of my forties, I've decided to go for a gruelling one day challenge. I'm going to tackle the Yorkshire Three Peaks which consists of a 25 miles walk taking in Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough. A total ascent of about 7000 feet and just to make it even more fun, the challenge is to do it in less than 12 hours. What a lark, eh?! It's a guided walk as I can't be trusted not to get lost and I have self funded so all the sponsorship money raised will go to MNDA. I've already started training as I desperately want to get in under that 12 hours!

Please give what you can to help those living with this awful disease and help the scientists find a cure.
