We promote research into brain tumours to close the funding gap for brain tumours

Story

Our Beautiful Friend, Georgie Beadman, was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2008. For over 6 years she bravely took on every treatment available to her and continued to live a full, happy and adventurous life until finally George lost her battle on February 11th 2015. She leaves behind her amazing husband, Cristian, and two gorgeous children Alfred and Jemima. We miss her every day.

Laura - Team Walk for Gee has organised an event in honour of George (Huge thanks to her) to raise much needed funds for the BTRC a charity that George supported. Funding for Brain Tumour Research is shockingly low considering that brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 that any other cancer; brain tumour research receives just 1% of the national spend on cancer research.

On Saturday 17th September a group of old friends plan to walk 1km for every year of George's life - 42km in total which is 26 miles - a marathon! We will be walking along the South Downs Way. Hopefully it will be a day when we can walk together, remembering George whilst raising money for this amazing charity. Please give as generously as you are able - every penny is hugely appreciated. Thank You.

About the charity

BTRC works with a Neurosciences team at Charing Cross and Hammersmith Hospitals (Imperial College London) to promote research into the causes of brain tumours and possible new treatments, to raise public awareness of the desperate need for this research and the current lack of funding.
