Story
I have picked this charity as they don't receive any government funding and they really helped me so much when I suffered a ruptured Ectopic Pregnancy in 2017 and lost my baby and my fallopian tube. It will be the 6th anniversary on 17/04/23, the week before the marathon. The support and advice I received was priceless when even the hospital couldn't help or support me during my stay. They also sent a lot of literature for me to give to the hospital so they could help the next person to go through what I did. Ectopic pregnancy is a common, but not well known, life-threatening condition that is the leading cause of maternal death in the first trimester of early pregnancy. The condition affects around 1 in 80 pregnancies in the UK and occurs when an embryo grows outside of the womb. The EPT believes that the deaths and trauma associated with ectopic pregnancy should be prevented. We seek to relieve the distress associated with the experience and provide ongoing support through their treatment and beyond. Please support our passionate runners who will be training hard to pound the streets of London raising crucial funds and awareness for ectopic pregnancies.
