Story
On October 09th 2022 I will be running my first ever official half marathon in memory of my favourite forever 4 year old Zachary Staples. In March 2021 Zac, who is my best friends youngest son, was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive brain tumor and was immediately rushed into hospital where he underwent multiple surgeries and treatments throughout the next year fighting this awful disease with everything he had and more and always with the biggest smile on his gorgeous face. Unfortunately Zac died in April 2022 having fought an epic battle which ultimately he couldn’t win as too many others also experience from brain tumors including an uncle that I lost when I was little and an ex-colleague who also lost their battle aged 30 not too long ago.
Zac was one of the brightest lights in this world and for everything he went through with that big, beautiful smile on his face my goal for the day will be to finish the half in a couple of hours running all 13.1 miles with a smile on mine.
Any small donation you could make to this charity to support the research they do so that hopefully in future these kinds of cancer can be treated and cured would be so much appreciated.
