Story

I sadly lost my beautiful 3-year-old daughter, Emilia to Sepsis following an undiagnosed invasive strep A infection March this year.   Emilia enjoyed coming on our family cycle rides.  The picture above is when we went to Holland in August 2018 and got around by bike. Emilia loved life and had so much more to give it but Sepsis took that away.  Help me raise awareness of this terrible condition.

Cycle4Sepsis is back for its 8th year and I am supporting them in their mission to raise awareness about sepsis across the country. This year, the format is unique - we're going virtual! In celebration of World Sepsis Day on 13th September, I will be cycling for the duration of the month: 1st - 30th September. I'm looking for some special, kind people to sponsor me! So if you could, it would be great if you'd donate to my page. Every year in the UK, sepsis kills at least 48,000 people with better awareness thousands of these lives could be saved. Thank you for your help! Your support and donations will make the difference!

Sepsis accounts for 48,000 deaths annually in the UK, that’s more than breast, bowel and prostate cancer put together. Sepsis is what happens when our immune system overreacts to an infection. Symptoms initially present as flu like but can rapidly deteriorate into a life threatening condition.
