Story
As most of you will know, for the last few months I have been training to walk a marathon in aid of the Palace for Life Foundation. I know some of you might say that walking a marathon isn't the same as running one but this is the first time I've ever committed myself to any sporting activity which doesn't involve being in a team and on a boat, so it's a pretty big deal for me! I've discovered that my ankles and knees aren't what they used to be and that Kendal mint cake and espressos on the go help with seriously long walks (clearly I'm now an almost fully fledged Londoner!) and after walking 22.8 miles at the weekend the 26.2 miles are now in sight!
I recently started volunteering for the Palace for Life Foundation. As a South London girl for the last 15 years, the work of the Foundation is very close to my heart. The Foundation has been working with the South London community for over 25 years. Existing to leverage the power of football and the Crystal Palace FC brand to change the lives of young people across South London, particularly the most hard-to-reach and hard-to-help. They work with over 13,000 people each year, inspiring them to find a better path and to lead a healthier life. My personal experience of all those involved with the work of the Foundation is truly inspiring, the commitment they show to improving the lives of young people in the area deserves recognition and I am very keen to help them in any way I can. I can guarantee that any amount you can spare will go to a very good cause. Thank you! xxx
