Scarletts Garden

Scarlett’s Garden · 5 July 2022
Hello and thank you for stopping by ☺️
My daughter, Scarlett, surprised us all last June by arriving early at 31 weeks. Up until her delivery it had been a normal, healthy pregnancy so it was a bit of a shock! Prior to her arrival we had been warned that she would need to be kept in hospital for a while and would need a lot of support. However, nothing really prepares you for the first time when you see your tiny baby surrounded by machines and medical staff, it’s a frightening start to parenthood.
Fortunately, we were all in the safe and caring hands of the NICU and SCBU teams at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. Scarlett received one to one care, the staff went out of their way to ensure that all parents were informed and as hands on as much as possible. Hospital life quickly became our new normal and we remain amazed at how kind, empathetic and welcoming everyone was. Scarlett thrived under their care and after 5 weeks we were able to bring her home. She has just turned one and is a happy, healthy toddler!
Tiny lives need a lot of specialised equipment so I am hoping to raise a little bit of money to help the hospital continue their good work and enable other parents to take their babies home. I’ve always loved my garden and although I’ve given it a lot less attention this year, my hydrangeas are flourishing! I am selling bunches of 5-7 flowers (depending on the size of each flower head) for £10 with all proceeds going straight to the QEUH via this page. Please message me via my Instagram page @caras.garden to order as it will be subject to availability ☺️
