Story
Caroline and Jon Edwards are fundraising for Sue RyderThanks for taking the time to visit ourJustGiving page.
There are many reasons why we are running the London Marathon but I have to say the main one is to donate to Leckhampton court Hospice.
Seeing how this place gives so much comfort to patients and their families is so heartwarming. Seeing and singing with some of the nurses and staff that work at this incredible place only adds to my love of the people there and the work they do.
We have some very exciting events planned to help raise as much as we can for this hospice. Events that involve all the Everyman choirs,,the Hospices very own staff choir and many other people (one of our much loved choir buddies spent time at the hospice before his far too early passing). Watch this space for more details on our big event.
So happy that Jon and I are running this together because the training will be tough and we can spur each other on.
Yes we know we are getting on a bit but hey still life in the old dog(s) yet. Every penny goes towards helping support and care for patients and families who visit the inpatient hospice, use the day hospice services or receive care from the hospice at home team.
£135.00 could cover the cost of a nurse for a day, £18 could cover the cost of an hour of care, £500 could pay for a bed a day of inpatient care for a patient.
The hospice costs £3.7m a year to run and they only receive £1.2m through funding, leaving them £2.5m to raise each year.
Leckhampton Court Hospice is the only service of it's kind in Gloucestershire, with their 16 inpatient beds servicing the entire country.
So as you can see every penny counts
It is a place full of love
