Story
Every day, seven young people aged 13-24 hear the words you have cancer. Unfortunately for us this was our family in November last year. Alfie had a lump on his neck that turned out to be lymphoblastic lymphoma and so he needed chemotherapy. He was admitted to T12 North at UCLH, which is the Teenage Cancer Trust ward and they were all amazing. Alfie needed specialised nursing care and support to get him through it. Not only are the doctors and consultants great and explained everything to him and us, but they have special youth support workers who work on the ward full time.
We're the only UK charity dedicated to meeting this vital need so no young person faces cancer alone.Every £25 donation provides an hour to talk. A Youth Support Coordinator provides the extra help young people need with things like studies, relationships and mental wellbeing throughout cancer treatment. £25 could pay for an hour of their time, helping them be there when they're needed most.
