Story
We have decided to do our first sprint triathlon on Sunday 14th Aug, in the lovely village of Stanhope in the Weardale valley.
It involves 400m swim, 22k bike ride and then finally a 5k run!
Whether there will be any part of it where we actually 'sprint' is another matter entirely! We will do our best, and as always have a laugh while we do it.
We decided we'd like to raise money for the British Heart Foundation, to fund more research into understanding heart disease.
Tat's wonderful Dad Mike died in January this year, as a result of a genetic heart condition called dilated cardiomyopathy(DCM).
He was a keen runner and cyclist before his condition was diagnosed, so we thought this was a way for us to remember and honour him. We hope that more research will help understand and treat genetic heart conditions for future generations.
I think he would be telling us 'Come on girls you're supposed to bloody sprint!!'
Please donate whatever you can as it's all really appreciated.
Thanks
Caroline, Tat & Sarah xx
