Story
On the 27th of April 2011 my friends and work colleagues, Steve and Celine Bowen, were given the news that their gorgeous wee boy, Joseph, had Infant Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia, a very rare form of cancer. All being well, his treatment (which has entailed 8 months of intensive chemo followed by almost 18 months of maintenance chemo, lumbar punctures and bone marrow biopsies) will be complete in mid 2013. Since his diagnosis CLIC Sargent have provided Steve & Celine with practical, emotional and financial support which has certainly alleviated a lot of stress and anxiety. They do some marvellous work for people who find themselves tackling life with childhood cancer and it is for this reason (and the fact that Joseph is one of the cutest babies in the world!) that I have decided to throw myself out of a plane at 10,000 feet. I hope that by doing so I will raise some much needed funds for CLIC Sargent so that they can continue to support Steve and Celine through their journey but also the many other families living with childhood cancer.
Celine, very bravely, writes a blog all about Joseph which is updated regularly - please feel free to take a look - its a very personal insight into their family life and the impact that cancer has. There are links to photos and videos of Joseph (JoBo) and also more information about CLIC Sargent. You can follow that blog on the following link
