Story
We believe in the right of every child to dream and have the chance to fulfil their aspirations. Through Desert Voicebox, we seek to provide unique opportunities for Saharawi refugee children to learn, develop their potential and use their voices to express themselves in new ways. We aim to equip them with the tools that can help them to turn their dreams into reality and become ambassadors for their community to raise awareness of their plight and threatened cultural heritage.
Desert Voicebox is providing English and Music education in a 4 year long afterschool project in the Saharawi refugee camp of Boujdour. Four locally employed teachers are teaching the program to 78 children between the age of 7-11 five days a week. The project is also providing ongoing training (now being done remotely tbrough Whatapp) to the teachers so they will be able to teach the full 4 year curriculum by Sept 2021.
