Story
In memory of my much-loved husband, David, I will be part of a group from Nightingale House Hospice trekking the Camino de Santiago, Spain, in October 2023.
This will be my second international challenge raising funds for the hospice. Earlier this year I completed the Inca Trail trek to Machu Picchu, Peru, alongside my sons, Richard, Ben and Josh. As a family we have raised a current total of £19,335 (as of 8 October 2022) for Nightingale House thanks to the kind support of our generous friends, family and colleagues. Thank you all.
Nightingale House supported David in his final weeks with incredible care, support, and compassion. It's no exaggeration to say that the staff at Nightingale House were superheroes for me and my family in the final weeks of David's life. Every penny I raise will help the Hospice in their work caring for local people with life-limiting illness and their families. The hospice is dependent upon charitable donations to continue the phenomenal work that they do.
For over 25 years Nightingale House Hospice has created an environment that gives patients and their loved ones quality time to spend together. Not having to worry about the care a loved one receives, knowing they are in safe hands means every second spent together is dignified and peaceful. Without support such as yours, the hospice’s specialist palliative care units wouldn’t be able to deliver such high standards. Each year Nightingale House helps hundreds of patients and their families across their wide range of services and facilities, as well as many children who are trying to deal with the loss of a loved one. They can only do this because of the generosity of supporters like you.
Thank you,
