**Update 3 September 2021**
So it is exactly one month until I finally get to run the London marathon on Sunday 3 October 2021. The world has changed a huge amount in the last 18 months, but I am looking forward to finally getting to that start line and running for Poole Hospital Charity.
A huge thank you to everyone who has sponsored me. It will be a very emotional day.

**Update 7 April 2020**
Well as has been widely publicised, Manchester and London marathons have been postponed until October 11 and October 4 respectively. I have made the decision to run London in October, and have deferred Manchester until April 2021. I should have been running Manchester last Sunday, April 5. As I had done all the training, I decided to run locally at a socially acceptable distance and did the 26.2 mile 'Tour de Hemel' instead. See my comments on this 'event' below

I am excited to be running both the London and Manchester marathons for Poole Hospital where my Dad - Ken Parkinson - has received such excellent care. Ken suffers from skin cancer and has had numerous skin lesions removed and is now going through immunotherapy.
Those of you who know me well will be very surprised to hear I have never run a marathon before. Yes, I've run half marathons and done plenty of long distance walking, but never a full marathon. This is my chance to 'give something back' to the hospital and our amazing NHS.
Huge thank you in advance for any donation you can give - it is very much appreciated.
