The Romney Hythe and Dymchurch Railway has a proud history. Since its founding 93 years ago it has served holiday makers and locals alike and was even requisitioned during the war to improve the coastal defences and assist with building PLUTO (Pipeline Under the Ocean). In 2027 the railway will celebrate its centenary and we want to make sure it steams on through the next seven years and has a wonderful celebration.
The Second World War didnt stop the railway and COVID-19 wont either. This means we need help to rebuild the engine shed, maintain our track, retain the staff with the unique skills that the railway needs - supporting the railway through the winter months this year and making sure Santa is back at every Christmas.
