Story
Thanks for visiting my page. I'm raising money for the British Heart Foundation and I'd be so grateful for your support. Did you know the BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives, my Dad being one of them. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures, and every penny or pound they receive helps this truly wonderful cause.
With this year being the 10 year anniversary of the passing of my father David Watkins & more recently having seen other close family members being affected and treated for heart problems I not only wanted to add to the fantastic amount of BHF funds raised by my brothers through their charity walk in July this year but to also set myself a personal challenge to get fitter to complete the marathon distance walk whilst also being able to contribute and support the wonderful work the BHF does in making such a difference to peoples lives.
I'm not getting any younger & it's fair to say I've not been at my peak fitness level for some years now so I'm not taking this challenge lightly, and it will really help me just knowing that by walking I am able to raise some money for this great cause. So if you could please give whatever you can to help me & my team buddy Zoe hit our target, however small, we & the BHF will be tremendously grateful. Thank you!!
Finally, a big shout out to my team buddy Zoe Adlam who has inspired me through the number of personal challenges she has completed in raising money for numerous charitable causes over the years and who I am hoping will keep us both going on the day!
