Story
My best friends sister, Brenda, suffers from severe epilepsy and has done so since the age of 2. The number of seizures she has encountered throughout her life has unfortunately caused permanent brain damage. The seizures are debilitating and can leave Brenda exhausted. When Brenda is well she just wants to experience life and be happy.
Brenda is lucky enough to attend Hansel Village twice a week, this safe environment allows her to thrive and enjoy her hobbies with an amazing support team. This helps to promote Brenda’s independence develop friendships as well as offer respite for the family.
Brenda wears her heart on her sleeve and is always helping out with her local church and raising funds to help with causes close to her own heart. She is an inspiration to me and my best friend, Diane, and we hoped that by doing the Kiltwalk we would be able to give a little back to a charity that has given so much to Brenda.
For those who have not heard of Hansel please see the below short paragraph explaining a little of the amazing work they do.
