Story
My journey to enlightenment began with my discovery of meditation. Meditation, specifically TM, has been my guide in helping to advance my knowledge and understanding of the world.
TM has become an outlet, letting me express my love for myself and the world. It has been key in strengthening my spirituality and helped me learn to love much more. In the world we live in today, I believe that it is so important to be able to get in touch with one's inner self in order to thrive. I have been able to connect with a whole new side of myself and have developed a more personal relationship with my God within my faith. While it may be unorthodox, my current relationship with my faith and with the world is intimate and stronger than ever. TM has been the keystone in helping me develop such relations, and I have grown to love myself, the world, and my faith much more throughout my journey, and since my discovery of TM.
Transcendental meditation (TM) is a technique practiced and promoted by many well known and respected people: Oprah, Dr Oz, Russell Simmons, Ellen Degeneres and many more. If it is creating miracles for the rich and famous, it can do the same for the youth most in need. Research has been conducted and found to be evidence based, scientifically supported to help the developing brain of any young people suffering of trauma and making them more resilient. Our Chicagoland communities continue to be plagued by violence and meditation has the potential to help tremendously. Based on your experience and expertise with the healing arts, you may be familiar with TM already.
- With a variety of interventions being offered to our youth in crisis, meditation has demonstrated how significantly transforming it can be. I have seen this as it relates to the CPS students I am working with presently. I have first hand experience that it can transform a school culture. I would love to connect with you and discuss this rewarding work. We are currently in three southwest side high schools: Gage Park, DuSable High School, and Bowen. All three schools are in communities where the students experience high stress . Meditation has helped this stress tremendously.
-Donating to this cause helps with the continued support of our organization within the schools. Money will help disadvantaged youth learn to meditate. It will help to create the conditions where calm and peacefulness are a part of their every day lives.
