Story
Rennie Grove Hospice Care is a registered charity offering services to support local patients diagnosed with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses. By offering a 24-hour responsive hospice at home service in combination with other services such as day hospice and family support, we allow our patients to choose how and where they want to be cared for towards the end of life.
Last year Rennie Grove Hospice Care provided care and support to Roy and myself at a most difficult time in our lives. Roy was able to remain at home pain free and with dignity because of the care provided by the Rennie Grove Community Team. We were fortunate enough to be married at home which was all that Roy wished for, supported by dear friends and the Rennie Grove Team. I well be forever grateful for all that the team did for us.
I want to raise as much money as possible for the Rennie Grove Team, to support the specialist care they provide day and night enabling those with life limiting illness to live well for as long as possible and to have the choice to die at home.
So on 13th August I will be embarking on my longest ever bike ride - Leighton Buzzard to Southampton - 101 miles, supported by my cycling buddy Andrew Dore and of course my soulmate on my shoulder. Following an overnight in Southampton (this is of course assuming I make it that far!) we will cross over to the Isle of Wight and circumnavigate this beautiful island. Then on 12th September we will undertake the Chilterns 3 Peaks Challenge - 20 miles on foot and will be able to view the place where the training for the bike ride took place!
I would love you to support me on this massive challenge by donating to my fund raising efforts, every penny counts and will be massively appreciated.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story Cx
