Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
When our daughter got diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, we were all shocked. She was only 3 years old. She was very unwell and admitted into hospital where she was started on a regime of blood tests and multiple daily insulin injections to keep her alive. When she was 4 years old, my fight to get her an insulin pump paid off. Although this meant we did not have to inject Érin several times a day, it means that she is constatly attached to a cannula, which gives her insulin throughout the day and night.
Érin is now 6 years old. She is happy, clever, beautiful and one of the strongest people I have ever met! Life is a constant struggle and every day (and night) feels like a battle to keep her alive and well. I worry about her future and the complications she will get due to her illness.
JDRF is working to find better treatments and ultimately a cure for this disease that attacks the young and innocent. Please help me reach my target and find a cure for Type 1 DM!
