Story
Hello and thanks for visiting my page!
I will be running (and probably walking) the Plymouth Half Marathon on 30th May 2010, and raising money for the Meningitis Research Foundation in memory of my cousin, Jack Rigby, who passed away from the disease on 31st July 2009. At only 17 Jack had his whole life ahead of him, so I'd like to raise money to help prevent tradgedies like this happening to others and their families.
The Meningitis Research Foundation 'funds research to prevent meningitis and septicaemia, and to improve survival rates and outcomes, promoting education and awareness to reduce death and disability, and give support to people affected'. Much of their funding comes from voluntary donations, so its really important we raise as much money as possible to help them in their important work.
Your donation could help to pay for:- £1 - 100 Symptoms Cards
- £5 - 1 school or university information pack
- £10 - 1 hour of in-depth support
- £25 - 1 hour of a typical research project
- £100 - 20 information packs for GP surgeries and health professionals
- £250 - funding for our 24 hour helpline for half a day
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate as much as you can, my target is £1000 but I'd like to raise as much as possible!
Thank you!
